Do you know one of those women who seems to be a Superwoman? It seems that she can do it all! I bet you could list a few of them right now off the top of your head. Do you ever wonder how your Superwoman friend gets it all done?
I did for the LONGEST time. I couldn’t fathom how women could work full time, run a business, mom-it-up, and not be exhausted! (Do you think this way too?)
I want to share with you today a few tips that I’ve learned. Although I am far from declaring myself Superwoman, I do wear several hats and I’ve had women ask me a lot the bewildered question, “How do you get it all done?”
I’m going to share with you a secret. I don’t get it all done.
And this isn’t one of those times I’m trying to be humble. I really don’t. I accomplish a lot, but not everything. And because I’ve learned a few secrets while wearing all these hats and still staying
relatively sane, I want to share with you a few of my best tips and strategies.
Tip 1: Get a Chore chart & routine going ASAP.
Ahhhhh, chores feel so mundane, Steph! Why did you have to bring this one up first?
Because Sister, I’m telling you nothing is worse than battling others because your unspoken expectations go left unmet and the other people’s priorities leave you frustrated and feeling like you’re doing it all yourself. Plus, the stress and time wasted about deciding who will do what and when it will get done is energy wasted that you could use to be loving on those very same people. Use a Chore Chart. Problem solved.
If you already have a chore chart, I bet you can attest to how much easier it has made your routines by freeing up time and energy in other areas of your life! Tip 2: Create Some Power Pockets
This means setting aside time each week to create three 10 minute power pockets to get yourself organized for the week. And for heaven’s sake, sister, use a timer so you are hyper-focused for each of these 10-minute pockets of time. Learn more about these power pockets here in my Facebook video.
I created this simple bullet journal tracker that gives me a place to log all of this. I do this every Sunday afternoon to save me precious minutes of sanity each day during the week. It’s been a long time since I have struggled through morning routines, forgetting to thaw meat for dinner, or realizing that my clothes are still in the laundry. This method, sister, has brought me a LOT of mental peace.
I don’t say this to brag, Sister. I say this because it is totally possible to live a life with intention and overcome the overwhelm. I say this because this tool has helped change my life. I say this because this tool can now be in your hands too.
Tip 3: Keep a running task list so you’re not stopping/starting all the time.
I use a grid method for this. Here’s how this works, divide your paper into quadrants (or pick up my bullet journal here) and write down all the things that need to be done. Each quadrant represents an area of your life that has tasks involved. KEEP this list running all week, just highlighting items as you finish them.
The beauty of this method is that you’re not stopping/starting tasks continuously, but rather setting aside time to work on a task until it’s complete before moving to a new task. When an item comes up that needs to be done, just write it down. Go back to the task later when you assess how much time you need for this. PLUS, you never forget what needs to be done. Think Brain Freedom! You do NOT keep thinking about the “to-do’s” because they’re already written down and you’re carrying them around with you.

Tip 4: Reclaim your mornings.
Seriously, get up and get going before anyone else needs you. I highly recommend you read my post on how to create a Morning Action Plan. Tip 5: Get grounded in your Faith.
Sister, there is nothing greater to help you overcome the overwhelm than to be grounded in your faith. Knowing that our Heavenly Father has created you with a purpose, called you to live like you’ve been called out from the grave, and appointed you brings about a peace like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. I’ve started sharing Godly Affirmations with you and plan to keep doing so to strengthen your mind and spirit in Him.
Each morning, I’ve been using the “In the Word” printable I’ve shared with you, and I’ve found that as I’m starting my mornings with the Creator listening to His voice, my faith has deepened and I’m beginning to understand how in all things He’s working for me (Romans 8:28).
It is my prayer that you seek His love, wisdom, and grace. Make this the foundation, then add the other tools with this and you’ve got a solid start on getting organized and becoming strategic and intentional with how you plan your week and live your days.
