Overwhelmed. Gosh, friend, this word makes me cringe. I know it’s tactic from the Enemy to make me believe that God is not in control, and I’m left on my own. Oh, what lies and havoc the Enemy brings into our life, my dear Giant Slayer! If the phrases “I’m overwhelmed” or “I’m struggling” are …
Claiming and affirming God’s words validate His power in our lives. It’s not about the “getting what we want” mentality that the world claims with affirmations. We are not talking about the “Universe” giving us what we want because we say it out loud. No, Giant Slayer, we are talking about God’s Truth.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
One of the resounding responses was they wanted more Bible Studies and Godly Affirmations to strengthen their walks with the Creator. So today, my dear Giant Slayer, I write you a love letter; a love letter of encouragement from one Sister in Christ to another. I also want to invite you to share with me (if you would like) what you would love to see here at Dauntless with Dignity.
The other day I had a friend ask about HOW to study the Word because she was really struggling with focus and depth and applying the Word to her life.
I was thinking:
How do I study the Word?
How do I teach my students to focus and break apart texts n our classroom so that they understand what they are reading?
How do I share literature so that my students connect to what they read?
I’ve got a Master’s of Education with an emphasis in Reading so this part isn’t too difficult for me, but I don’t want to just write a study on what you should and shouldn’t understand about God’s Word. I wanted to create a tool that could help women of any age or maturity deepen their walk with the Creator by breaking apart texts and focusing on what they need from the Word at this time in their lives.
I have to be honest with you all. When a friend first mentioned Morning Affirmations to me, I laughed and thought, Um… NO.
No way was I going to talk to myself in the mirror. No way was I going to buy into “Speak it into Life” kind of mentality. That’s not Godly…
….. Until I realized that it was…. But, ONLY when we claim God’s affirmations about who we are in HIM.
